On the 5th May 2007, a community known as WGN split. The split was caused by a number of reasons, mainly admins and members were clashing. this finally came to a head and a number of active members quit.With no-where left to go, but everyone wanting to stay together PepsiChic and Fireblade created a new community which was founded on the 6th May. A temporary forum was set up on the back of pepsichic.co.uk and the next day a teamspeak server was created, this became our home for just over a month.

During this time the community was deciding upon a name, after a lot of voting and choices to make, on the 21st May the community gained its name “HighWay Gamers” with the tag [HWG] .

On the 31st May www.highwaygamers.com was bought, and on June 11th, Vbulletin was added onto the site, creating the forums. 8 days later, on the 19th June, the community website was opened to the members.

Since then the website has had a great deal of improvement as well as color theme and a front page. The members have shown a continued support for the community and the number keeps growing.

We have also now had 3 successful meets since the community was create, and each time brought laughter and new experiences along with new faces together in one place.

HighWay Gamers is made up of fun, friendly people who love to chat, play games and just chill out. Feel free to register on the forums and join in.
